Alumnus Randall Wilson (BS 2006, MA 2010), James Ebert, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Damon Matteson (Network Operations and BS 1996, MA, 2004) led a field trip for the 83rd Annual Meeting of the New York State Geological Association held in Syracuse, October 14-16, 2011. Their accompanying peer-reviewed paper The Green Vedder Member – A Highstand Systems Tract in the “peritidal” Manlius Formation was published in the Field Trip Guidebook for the meeting.

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Newsweek magazine has named SUNY Oneonta one of the best colleges in the nation for artistic students. In its 2011 “Best Colleges for You” feature published earlier this week, Newsweek ranks SUNY Oneonta #7 on a list that also includes NYU, Berklee College of Music in Boston, USC and the California University of the Arts.

SUNY Oneonta Alumni to Join Coach in "Swim Across America" to Fight Cancer

Chris Schuler, the head coach of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at SUNY Oneonta, will contribute to the fight against cancer again this year doing what she does best—swimming. On August 13, Schuler will participate in a 5K swim at Morgan Park in Glen Cove, New York, as part of the nationwide "Swim Across America" initiative, which helps to raise money for cancer research and treatment through swimming-related events.
