Sign up to be a source of information for fellow alumni and current students!
One of your best sources for networking is fellow SUNY Oneonta alumni. This is why we created O-Link – SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Career Network. O-Link is made up of Oneonta alumni who have volunteered to be available for other Oneonta graduates and current Oneonta students to share information and advice regarding their career path. Quite literally, O-Link puts the power of the SUNY Oneonta community at your fingertips. O-Link consists of alumni of various graduation years, schools and majors.
You can help us build and strengthern this network by becoming an O-Link volunteer, and offering to give help and advice to fellow Alumni and Oneonta students. Simply update your information in your online community profile, and check the box to become an “O-Link Adivsor”. Then you can decide what type of help you’d like to offer from the following options:
- Review resumes and/or cover letters
- Offer interview tips
- Give general career and networking advice
You can also sign up to help out in other ways by:
- Offering to host a regional Alumni event in your area
- Becoming a reunion class chair
- Coming back to campus to speak to current students
If you volunteer as a resource on O-Link you will be expected to:
- Provide Oneonta students and fellow alumni with advice on careers, industries/industry trends and organizations within their areas of expertise
- Respond in a timely, professional and appropriate fashion to inquiries
- Make employment information and at least one method of contact visible (Please note: your information will only be visible to members of the Oneonta community who have logged into O-Link and selected the Alumni Career Network)
- Keep contact and career information up to date in the database
- Receive information from the Office of Alumni affairs including emails about events and/or alumni news
O-Link volunteers have NOT agreed to:
- Provide job opportunities
- Review business venture proposals
- Interview students or participate in extended communication over time
- Recruit students or alumni for open positions at their place of employment
O-Link volunteers have the ability to:
-
Choose a preferred method of contact
-
Post current as well as past employment history
-
Upload a resume

-
Indicate an interest in other volunteer opportunities
