Attention Class of 1989
The College’s Career Development Center (formerly Placement Office) routinely clears its files of outdated materials. Files from the class year of 1989 will be affected.
Credential or placement files contain letters of recommendation and biographical information to support employment and graduate school applications. All recommendations written prior to 1975 are confidential and cannot be revealed to candidates. References written after 1975 may or may not be confidential, depending upon the candidate’s designation.
Alumni should note that most folders contain outdated materials of no significance in today’s employment or graduate school market. Alumni are also invited to establish current credentials to support job changes or graduate study.
Files from the class year 1989 will be destroyed after December 1, 2009, unless the Center receives a request to save the folder. Any folder with information less than 10 years old will automatically be saved.
Please note: your “official” college transcripts will remain on file indefinitely with the Office of the Registrar. These transcripts are not considered part of your placement file.

As a reminder, alumni are always welcome to use the Career Development Center services such as critiquing resumes and cover letters, mailing credential files, and assisting with graduate school and job searches.
