WHAT is YAC?
The Young Alumni Council (YAC) strengthens ties between our graduates of the past 10 years and works to facilitate the transition of students to active alumni through special events and communication. This group also advocates for initiatives that meet the needs of younger (and future) alumni. Some of these initiatives include:

  • To foster mutually beneficial relationships between alumni, students and SUNY Oneonta.
  • To increase the number of young alumni who take an active role in the life of the College.
  • To represent young alumni and provide a vehicle through which they can provide service to their Alma Mater.
  • Facilitate interaction between students of the College and its alumni.

WHO is YAC? The Young Alumni Council has approximately thirty active members and holds meetings four times a year. Young Alumni Council members participate in Homecoming Weekend, Reunion Weekend and the Student Leadership Institute as well as attend various regional events held throughout the year. The continued success of the Council depends on the leadership, enthusiasm and dedication of its members. Membership in the council is voluntary and everyone is welcome to join! Please feel free to contact the Alumni Affairs office, at (607) 436-2526 with any questions.

WHERE IS YAC? Our Young Alumni Council members come from all corners of NY State and the country! The Council members have established several regional sub-groups to provide stronger networking opportunities for our young alumni. Want to meet other young alumni in your area? See our Regional Groups page for more information!
