Senior Class Gift Campaign
One of the many traditions of College at Oneonta Alumni is leaving a legacy via a senior class gift. Each year the class votes on what they would like to do to leave their legacy. Working with the Senior Class Officers and the Office of Alumni Affairs, a Senior Class Gift Campaign Committee is formed. The seniors on the committee volunteer their time and work hard to get as many of their classmates to participate as possible, ultimately making their class campaign a huge success!
The Class of 2010
agreed upon the construction of an Alumni Brick Garden on the Hunt
Union Waterfront by the pond. The 2010 Alumni Garden will:
• Provide a legacy of history for future generations of students, faculty, and staff
• Celebrate the Class of 2010 by displaying the class year in the center of the laid bricks
• Celebrate a lifelong connection to Oneonta
• Provide a setting for future events.
• Provide ongoing funding for the Alumni Association to sponsor
scholarships, library book funding, sponsor student research, and other
projects. The funding would come from the sale of memorial bricks that
make up the walkway and foundation of the garden.
The money raised by the 2010 Senior Class will be used to build the
garden in its entirety. The garden will be constructed with removable
pavers so that once the project is complete alumni, faculty, and staff
will have the opportunity to purchase engraved pavers to leave their
lasting legacy at Oneonta. All proceeds from the purchase of the
engraved pavers will go directly to the College at Oneonta Alumni
Association to sponsor the enhancement of the quality of life at
Oneonta.
