Native American Festival at College Camp

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY College at Oneonta will offer a Native American Festival on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the College Camp off upper East Street. Admission is complimentary, and members of the community are invited to attend.

The festival will include music, presentations, and exhibits as well as tours of the Iroquois bark longhouse at the camp. The featured presenters and programs include Mike Tarbell offering a presentation entitled "Tools of the Hunt," Amanda Tarbell displaying cornhusk dolls, Roger Longtoe performing Abenaki singing and drumming, and Suzanne Vermette telling stories in the longhouse.

The College Camp is a collaborative effort of the SUNY Oneonta Student Association, the College, and Oneonta Auxiliary Services. More information about the Native American Festival is available from Snapper Petta, the College’s Director of Outdoor Activities, at (607) 436-3455.
